When I was 18, I did the boldest thing I’ve ever done: I took a gap year as a Rotary Youth Ambassador in France, a country where I didn’t speak the language, didn’t know a soul, and didn’t understand the culture. A year later, I had found a second home, a second language, and a brand new perspective on my life and the world around me. This experience not only taught me some of the most useful skills I’ve learned so far, but also helped make me the person that I am today.
After graduating college in the midst of a pandemic that has helped expose many of the inequities of our society, my world view has evolved once again. Educating myself and those around me, and working to protect and empower those who do not have the same privileges as I do is central to my path forward.
I aspire to use the creative, globally-oriented thinking I have learned through my experiences to make the world a better, more compassionate place. Simply put, I want to make good work for good people who do good things.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar and piano, trying new recipes and art projects, and taking too many pictures of my dogs.
